Here's a list of sites that aren't working for me... and by "not working", I mean that every time I type the URL in the address bar, FIrefox (Version 3.6) says: "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at (Insert URL here)" http://www.torrenthound.com http://www.torrentz.com http://www.kickasstorrents.com http://www.Superfundo.org Now, I can still use the pirate bay, and a few others... but I'm just wondering why this is happening! I don't have any other problems connecting to the internet... and my Anti-spyware didn't pick up anything... I'm currently using "Malawarebytes' Anti-malware". HELP.

Open Question: iChat Connection Alert-None?

I try logging in but before I am able to receive my buddy list, I receive the iChat Connection Alert, and for the reason it just has the words "None". I have tried changing the server, I have the max bars of internet. And this is not the first time. This has been going on for quite some time, maybe a year or more. However, I have had a Mac for more then that but just now it comes with the Connection Alert. Any Ideas? Need Help, this is how I talk to most of my friends and I cannot just create a new AIM account. Please Help I'd really appreciate it. Thank You.

Open Question: Why wont deviant art let me submit my deviation?

For the past 2 hours, I have been trying to submit a drawing I have made to my deviantart account. The drawing is actually a contest entry that was due at midnight (35 minutes ago) so now i'm pretty much screwed. unless the contest maker understands. but whats happening? I have tried resizing it many times.i tried changing file type. I'm trying to do this resonably so i dont lose quality on my picture, but just nothings working! I have tried switching browsers. first google chrome, then firefox, then internet explorer. non of them loaded. a popup box came up saying that it there was either: a server mistake, too high of a download, etc etc. what is wrong with dA and is there anything I can do? It's a png file, and I've uploaded bigger files in the past.. so I dont really understand why every of a sudden it decided to not work. It hasn't been working for over a day now. .___.

Open Question: Networking questions about setting up OS, and routers/switches.?

I know that routers are alot smarters than hubs and switches, but if im just running a halo game server / streaming videos, can i just run it off switches? trying to use 9 switch. but unsure if router is something i have to receive? And i already myself the server tower. but now i'm not quite sure about the OS. one of my pal told me Mac users wont be able to connect to window server 2008? Also this server will be strictly offline. there will be no internet whats so ever. Hey, I'm just getting into spore, and now that i have beat the game, I want to mod it like crazy! unfortunately there is little to no mods left for it on the internet. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of the genesis tool mod and the 100 trade routs mod. I know that a site called sporedome.com had them every at one point, but it seems like it is close down and every other site that I reach is unable to to connect to a server that allows me to download them. So my computer and internet have been working really slow and before it went really quick but since i changed my ip address after i got banned from this video game server,and starting my computer has been really slow,using the internet as been as well.everytime i wanna go to like my documents or computer settings,or any other website/page,it takes a long time to receive there.I tried cleaning my computer like deleting old computer files and stuff.My internet security,firewall and everything is on.And after a while,like if i dont use my computer while its still on it seems fine,but when i wanna use it it takes a while for me to use it. Open Question: help meh steam is failing steam is failing?

i have always used steam, but recently i kept getting kicked out of half life 2 death match servers a few seconds after i joined, i exited steam and tried to start it up again, but for some reason i cannot connect to steam at every, the mistake message says "Could not connect to Network. it appears you are not connected to the internet, or that your internet connection is currently not configured for steam", yet my internet works, what do? i have figured out that i went into offline mode and reinstalled steam, so it deleted my saved log data, so i cant connect to steam, how do i receive the log data back on to it

Open Question: Why doesn't my internet work, even when it says it is connected?

my computer can connect twireless connection fine. It says that i am connected to the internet, but the internet does not work. For example, Firefox can't find the website. Sometimes when this happens and i check Wireless internet connections, it will say "Automatic" instead of Connected, and then i can click and reconnect. Repairing also helps the problem, but it blinks on and off somewhat frequently, regardless of what internet server I am trying to connect to. Whether at home or at school, the problem is the same. The signal strength isn't the problem, because it shows full bars. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Open Question: Renaming my avi. files won't work! Frustrating!?

Here's the problem. I've downloaded some videos from the internet, and when I rename them, it shows the original name when I select it from streaming off the PS3. For example, I have a video called "Eminem.Parody.Xvid.2001", and then I rename it to "Eminem Parody". While selecting the video from streaming off the PS3, it shows up as the original name "Eminem.Parody.Xvid.2001". Here's everything I've tried to rename it. Right-click > Rename Right-click > Properties, below the "General" tab rename the file. Using and AVI tag editor (when I open up the file in it, the name shows up as the renamed name already). Move it to the Desktop, rename it, and move it back. Move it to another folder, rename it, and move it back. Turn off the PC and turn it back on. Research for Media Servers on the PS3. Renaming it on the PS3, except there isn't an option for that while streaming (Options > Information > Can't edit it) What can I do? Is there no way to rename it?

Open Question: what is up with my network running at 10mbs?

I installed a Router and a 16 port switch in the basement. The builder ran cat-5e shielded cable from the basement to the wall outlets ~400ft for the longest run but does the same thing if I use any plug outlet that is 5 ft away. I crimped a gold plated either net plug on one end of the cable that went into the switch. Then ran the other end to the wall outlet and made sure that it was a 1:1 connections. (jumper-ed the ends and OHM it out). The problem is that I have to force every the computers on the network to receive 10base T before they are assigned an IP address (every the hardware is 10/100 mbs base T and are DLINK brand). I can not hookup my network DVD player, XBOX or any other "automatic" selecting device. I replaced the 16 port switch with a new SMG , I also tried a NETGEAR Max range and had the same problem. Unless I tell the computer to look 10 mbs base T it will not let me connect to the internet. Also, if I receive a laptop or the server that is sitting next to the switch and hook to the network with just a patch cord it will run at 100 mbs. Basically I got it every to work 10 mbs and I want it to be at 100mbs. What could be going on? Personally I was thinking it was a wiring issue but no website can tell me if I have to do a cross over or 1:1 like the patch cords. Right now I have to force it to be at 10mbs full duplex. I have to set the drivers up or the computers will not connect. I wanted to running it in "car select" mode so the Xbox and dvd player can run on the network. So far the "10 baseT full duplex" is the only option that will allow me to use the network.

If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)." le llame a los de prodigy a ver que royo y me dijeron que no tiene nada que ver con ellos, tambien vi el post de otra persona a la que le dijeron que habia una opcion desde el mail de yahoo, pero la busque todo el dia y por todos lados en las opciones y no existe tal cosa. Ayuda, ¿Cómo lo hago?

Open Question: How to deploy netgear wireless router with a Cisco router connected to a leased line?

Heres how my network is connected. internet leased line -- cisco router-- switch - endusers-----------------> this is every wired network. there is a ethernet cable from switch to ethernet port f 0/0 on cisco router. ip address of this port on cisco router which also servers as the default gateway (to internet) for internal users is 192.168.1.1 and every internal users have ip from the same range. there is one F0/1 port on cisco router free on the Cisco router in a close down state. the external serial interface has a internet ip and is a point to point link. we have NAT configured on our Cisco router with a pool of 5 static ips in it. We are now going to deploy a wireless solution for our Laptop users. In view of that my boss has already bought a new NETGEAR wireless router. how can i incorporate this router in our gift setup. Netgear router has single "internet" ethernet port and few lan ethernet ports.but i dont look where and how to connect this router and how it will work. I look a problem with distributing ip address to internal wireless users. please somebody help me out.

Open Question: Cannot use anti-virus software and Google redirects?

I have recently been noticing some abnormalities with my laptop computer. Firstly, I cannot open any anti-virus or anti-malware software (I already have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware installed and I have tried to install AVG but it constantly fails the internet connection test) and when I have performed searches on Google, the links often redirect me to another random/spam site. I also sometimes receive "server not found" messages when trying to visit websites (far too frequently for it to be a coincidence), but with a few refreshes they eventually load up. I have searched around and this appears to be a fairly common virus problem, but I have not yet found a way to solve it. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Resolved Question: this is a tricky one,for some reason a blue light has appeared on my bt hub,i always have 3 lights which is?

normal,a forth one has appeared and its a symbol of a phone,and i cant dial out on my phone now,i can receive calls,but now have a high piched tone like a fax machine,and my servers keep going down on the internet,which obviously affects my on demand vision,when i restart the hub,and only have the usual 3 blue lights,i can ring out on my phone,as soon as the phone light appears on the hub i have that weird tone again and cant make any calls,but can receive them still,any ideas anyone,thankyou

Open Question: How to remove AV Security Suite virus?

[[I HAVE ALREADY REMOVED THE VIRUS OFF OF MY COMPUTER]] I'm just making this answer for others to look how to receive rid of this virus. I somehow got the virus last night and I went online looking for guides to remove this virus. Most of the guides said to use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to remove the virus. (Luckily I already have this program on the computer before I got the virus). SOLUTION A - If you had already downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware before you got the virus: 1. Go to your internet option by opening Internet Explorer and click on 'Tools' > 'Internet Options' > 'Connections' > 'LAN Settings' and tick 'Automatic Detect settings' and untick 'Use proxy server'. 2. Rename Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware on your desktop into some other names 3. Restart computer and go to Safe Mode with Network (To go to Safe mode, hold F8 at the part where you can pick boot or setup) (For Windows 7 and Vista, it's F8. For other windows, I'm not sure) 4. Open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 5. CHECK FOR UPDATES 6. Run a scan then remove virus when the scan is done. SOLUTION B - If you do not have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware while you have the virus (but you do have another desktop or laptop): 1. Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware on a computer without virus and keep it on a memory stick. 2. receive the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from the memory stick into the computer with virus. 3. Go through SOLUTION A -- The thing with this virus is that it blocks you from opening any programs (of course, this includes Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware), not even Task Management. That's why you have to go to Safe Mode and run the scan to remove this virus. Checking for updates on Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is important. I successfully got the virus removed AFTER I updated. Sorry if this is confusing or lack in information, every these over is just what I've learned :] P.S. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is free to download :] I'm not trying to advertise this program or whatsoever, I got a different virus last time and I used this program to remove it too (the virus where it directs to another site when you didn't click on that site). Having this program on your computer just in case is not a bad idea

Open Question: What can I do to reconnect my wireless connection?

I possess a dell pc that runs with windows 7. I myself don't have a modem as I live in an apartment and will use the network I connect to in the lobby. I recently stopped by my parents' home, and up until then my internet connection was working fine. Since then it hasn't worked at every. Fishy? I think that might have something to do with the problem. I have since tried what feels like a lot. I have tried the 'run' program and typed in cmd to release and renew my ip address, but to no avail. It shows every zeros and says 'an mistake occured while renewing interface wireless network connecton: unable to contact your dhcp server. request has timed out. I've done other things as well, but nothing worked. Is this a problem with my wireless card, or is there a less expensive solution?

Open Question: Weak Network Connection on iPod Touch and Xbox Live?

Hey guys. I have been having some trouble lately with my network. This actually happens every few weeks, but usually I just switch up the Ethernet cables and it works fine. But I tried that this time countless number of times it did not fix my problem. On my laptop, my internet is fine. But on my iPod Touch and Xbox, I have a very weak signal. On my iPod Touch (2G, 16 GB, 4.0 iOS) I can run websites fine, but I Facebook and YouTube will not load. Maybe those apps require more strength to run them? I don't know. On my Xbox, I have to attempt to sign in about 5 times before I actually am able to sign in. When I am finally able to sign in, though, I can only talk. Whenever I try to play Madden 11, for example, online, I disconnect from the servers immediately or just cannot connect to them. I know it's not the EA servers that are bad because my friends play online with ease and this happens with other games as well. Also, my Linksys router (WRT54GS) is literally 8 feet away from me, in my room, with no barriers or anything to interfere with it and my iPod Touch's signal bars in the top right corner fluctuates between 1, 2, and 3 bars. I have also upgraded my router to the latest firmware and have reset my router at least 10 times to no avail. Also, I called my ISP and they said my modem was working at full strength without any problems, so I'm pretty sure this is an issue with my router. I have also tried buying brand new Ethernet cables because I thought maybe my old ones were just worn out, but no, that didn't work either. Also, on my computer, I'm on wireless and it says my connection is "Excellent." I'll also add that my modem is a Motorola SB5101. This is an extremely annoying issue. Are there any settings I should change in my router configuration? Can someone please help me out? Thanks!

Open Question: Maplestory and Private server problems?

Hello now the original maplestory client will not let me download it,it always stops when it says the pando media booster or somthing and a erro pops up saying i need to download it or somthing i did and still nothing worked and when i had it downloaded it wouldnt let me start it up from the website cause now i have windows xp and im using internet exploarer and i try to go to the nexon file and click the game launch thing still nothing works now on the other hand the private sever bankaistory says i dont have a ijle file or wat ever i dnt kno wat that means please help me out please and thank you

Open Question: ipod questionn !!!!!?

My ipod touch isnt getting internet ; it just started today . When i type in Google for exaample , the screen says "Connecting" but it takes very long to load & once it did it says "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding" & it happens to any website i go to . Pleaase Help ! +& it is connected to a network , ican use internet on my laptop fine . its just my ipod.

Open Question: Internet Connection Sharing & Windows Sever R2 Datacenter?

They seem not to work, at every... I'm trying to set up a wireless access point from my server to half of my home. The internet goes through my ethernet to my server, then shared to wireless. Haven't activated my copy of windows server yet tho. Problem: --The sharing Tab doesn't appear on my network adapter (like it does in Win 7) --Setting up an Ad-hoc wireless works but when clicking "turn on internet conection sharing" results in the server replying "You don't have enough prilvages to configure Internet connection sharing" Note: I am the administrator, UAC is off(tried with it on), Group policy isn't interfering, Windows Firewall is on & "Wireless LAN service" is installed. --Using Virtual Router Manager, it says "Virtual Router could not be started" --Using Connectify, it works but no ip address is given, resulting in a 169.*.*.* type of address and no dhcp server. PS: I have every updates installed And system Config is INTEL MB D945PLM Nvidia 9500GT vid card intel PRO/100 S Desktop adapter (internet) intel PRO/1000 - MB card (disabled) D-link AirPlus DWL-G520 rev B wireless card (try to make accesspoint) wireless also has a Virtual Wifi miniport adapter So, How do you set up ICS or any nice of accesspoint on sever 2008 R2 with ethernet sharing to wireless. Would having three network adaptors be the the problem? (two lan's plus one WIFI card) I'm a tech guy but this the first time using a server so steps would be good. Thanks

now... I simply need the server information for incoming and outgoing mail to have my yahoo mail forwarded to microsoft outlook 2007. Is there anyone that may be able to help me?

Open Question: Why is my ping so high?

Hi i play garrysmod alot and theres a server thats hosted in england tht normally i receive usually 130 ping on which causes no lag for me i have 10Mbps internet i live in us but ive now been getting like 250-300 ping in the server im wondering if this has to do with me moving to a wirelss connection or maybe if if its cause i run skype in the background any help would be appreciated Comp Specs: grahpics: ATI Mobility 5650 1gb ded ram processor: Intel Core i5 Processor 430M 2.27 ghz 4gb of ram

Open Question: Why can't I liten to radio stations live online?

What ever site l go to, to hear to the radio online live it says internet explorer cannot display web page and l asked my pal to check to look too and she said it worked fine for her and she lives in Connecticut and lm just wondering if its my computer or the internet server for the web sites. And i try refreshing the page but it still wont pop up is there anything l can do??????

Open Question: Not getting internet!! can someone help?

i have a linksys usb reciever hooked up to my netgear router. for about a year it has been giving me intenet. now every of a sudden when i open firefox it tells me proxy is refusing connections. i changed the settings from use system proxy to car detect network for proxy but it says unable to connect to server.i also tried internet explorer and that didnt work. when i look at my connections it shows me that im receiving packets and yet no internet. i even unplugged both router and usb and connected them back again and no luck. i can connect to the router with my laptop and xbox but not my computer. i already re-installed to software and that didnt work. i need help!!

Open Question: What is the easiest way and cheapest way to get Fast Internet Connection!?

Can't tell where i live though, but I'm using a 1mb broadband connection. I'm still unhappy with it, since i only receive 0.60mbps, You-tube buffers every second, I'm getting High ping at game servers and most of every it has Slow download speed, Which annoys me so much. and for some reason its kinda expensive! So I'm asking how to receive a cheaper, easier and faster Internet Connection? Let us say 4mb+ for a casual "User" or a "Gamer" like me? I live in Saudi Arabia!
